Have you heard of stories of nurses who were not allowed to enter the Pearson testing center because of unsigned passport?
One of my former students had this very sad experience. There was no testing center in Manila back then. And the slots for Hong kong were full. Together with another friend, they registered at Saipan. After many months of studying and saving up for the exam & trip expenses, they finally went there. They arrived a day before the Big Day. They went to the testing center and then toured the island after. The next day, they were all set for the exam. When the staff... Read more »

Taking the NCLEX Exam is one of the milestones for nurses who wish to work in the United States. While I was in my last year in nursing school, I was laying out my plans on taking the NCLEX right after I took the PNLE. I didn’t want to waste time. I want to plan way ahead so that right after the local boards, I’ll review for the NCLEX right away.

Nurses of today are somehow forced to do multitasking due to lack of good fortune here in the Philippines. Adding up to that is the slump that our country as well as the entire world is experiencing. That’s why most of our nurses have passed up the “supposed fact” that becoming a nurse would mean having a better life in the future. As you can see, many have worked as a call center agent; tempting salary and benefits await them. Some of them dare to enter that kind of work in order for them to be somehow productive and be of help to their families.
I, as a nurse, have been stranded... Read more »
Recently, the Philippine government boasted to the passers of the June 2009 NLE the vast opportunities for Filipino nurses in the Middle Eastern countries as a fruit of the president’s travel to that part of the globe. Sadly, I can see no hiring that reached my province.
I’ve passed the NLE some four years ago and my experience as a hospital nurse would place me a bit higher compared to the new nurses. I’m from the Visayas and I have been relentlessly jumping from one agency to another in the hope that I might be hired to work abroad. Till now, I’m still here... Read more »
